Listing Description

1968 Mercedes Benz 280SL For Sale

The W113 series was first introduced in late 1963, the ground breaking design was a leap into an entirely different direction than the proceeding 300SL and 190SL. Nicknamed the Pagoda for its slightly concave shaped hardtop. The car was a big success both in Europe as well as the USA, over 48,912 W113 chassis were produced from 1963 to 1971. The 280SL was the last and most refined of the series. They are ridiculously cute with a superb build quality that only the Germans can deliver, and truly the last of the handbuilt Benzes. Many celebrities have been caretakers of these fine automobiles such as John Lennon, Audrey Hepburn, John Travolta and Stirling moss to name but a few.

This particular 280SL was a very early production example built in January of 1968, destined the the US market it was equipped with air conditioning, power steering, and automatic transmission. This rust free car will make an excellent appreciating daily driver for the lucky new owner, your chance to be the celebrity on your street. Drive your investment.
