Listing Description
A lovely example of the rare 1949 Cadillac Sedanette Fastback. Finished in dark metallic blue with dark brown interior. Cosmetically restored 10 years ago, bare metal repaint with no signs of body filler. She is not perfect, there are some minor scratches, a door ding, the odd crack in the paint, some chrome has imperfections. This is a car to drive on a Sunday afternoon and take to a car show and have fun with.
1949 was the first year of the 331 over head valve V8 with 160HP so she scoots along at a decent speed, and cruises at 60 mph with no fuss at all.
She runs great with only 72,000 original miles, purchased in Feb 2004 with only 71,000 miles from Oregon, lived in Beverly Hills since then. No rust.
2004 new paint and interior paint on the dash, also transmission rebuild, rear end rebuild, and steering box rebuild. Only 1000 miles in past 10 years.
2005 New interior door panels, headliner and seating and carpets including trunk.
2008 new correct OEM front and rear wire harness, water pump, and wiper switch, and optima 6V battery
2011 all new white wall tires. Car is located in West Los Angeles available for viewing anytime.
Be prepared for a lot of “thumbs up” and smiles where ever you drive this baby. Its doesn’t get more American than this car, the fastback has stunning styling that just screams “WANT” I believe only about 6,000 of these cars were built in 1949, and probably not many left, so she only going to go up in value a chance to drive your investment.
