Tips and tricks on taking good quality photographs

Before you take pictures of your vehicle please make sure the lens on the camera is clean, and free from dust and fingerprints, otherwise the pictures may be fuzzy and out of focus.

If possible make sure your vehicle is clean, maybe give it a wash or vacuum out the interior if its dirty. Remove any items such as towels, magazines from the interior that are not a part of the car.

If you are using your phone please take pictures with the phone held horizontally (landscape), as this style suit the long width of the vehicle and fills the frame better than a portrait photo.

If possible pull the vehicle outside in a nice open space, so you can move around the whole vehicle and snap some nice pictures of your pride and joy. Sometimes this is not possible if the vehicle is not driveable.

Early morning or late afternoon are the best times of day to take pictures. Midday tends to have the harshest sunlight on a sunny day and try to avoid contrasting shadows. If its sunny make sure the Sun is behind you when you take the shot, turn the car around if necessary.

Don't be shy !! take as many pictures as possible, more detail the better. Take shots of any damage or excessive wear and tear so we can accurately determine the condition of the vehicle.

Make sure your car is placed centrally and the whole car is in the picture and fills the frame, see the examples below for reference.

If your vehicle has any upgrades such as bull bars, side steps, tow package, suspension, or stereo systems. Please take detailed pictures of those items.

Once you have taken all your stunning pictures, the next step is to send it to us. We recommend sending them in google drive, dropbox folder, or any other file sharing service. Or you can email, or text them to us. We will also need your full name and address to put on the appraisal.
